As a health and fitness writer myself, I’m a pretty active person. Resumen:[Abstract] Objetivo: El objetivo de este estudio fue explorar si las demandas atencionales están involucradas en las mejoras de la marcha en pacientes con enfermedad de Parkinson (EP) cuando caminan en una cinta rodante. Diseño: Diecinueve individuos con EP idiopática y 19 controles sanos emparejados por edad participaron en este estudio. Los participantes caminaron en una cinta rodante y sobre el suelo bajo condiciones de tarea única (sólo caminar) y tarea dual (caminar realizando una tarea cognitiva simultánea). El paradigma de tarea dual se utilizó para revelar el comportamiento de asignación de la atención. Se midió el patrón de marcha y el rendimiento cognitivo. Resultados: El grupo con EP mostró una reducción de la variabilidad de la marcha al caminar sobre una cinta rodante en comparación con el suelo. Sin embargo, esta reducción no se deterioró durante la tarea dual. Además, no hubo diferencias en el rendimiento cognitivo entre caminar en cinta rodante y sobre el suelo. Conclusiones: Este estudio no apoya la propuesta de asignación de recursos atencionales como posible mecanismo de las mejoras de la marcha asociadas a la cinta rodante observadas en la EP.
